Mukbangs, or streaming shows in which hosts (BJs) eat large meals on broadcast for viewers, have become incredibly popular in South Korea.
While the practice has become quite common in Korea recently, a popular mukbang BJ has come under fire after appearing on popular talk show Same Bed, Different Dreams.
On the March 7th episode, the female BJ who goes by the name Wooang revealed, “It’s been a little over 200 days. I earn about 40 to 50 million won.”
After hearing about her job and how much money she earns just from filming herself eating, many netizens criticized the profession and viewers who donate to fund her career.
