Although they just debuted last year, girl group G-Friend has already proven themselves to be one of the hottest groups in the industry.
And after their recent success with their latest song “Rough,” their agency CEO So Sung Jin sat down to discuss with ize how the group has managed to do so well so quickly.
The CEO first explained their initial plan following G-Friend’s debut, revealing that they had planned to take small steps and build up a fandom. However, with the “slippery video” incident going viral, So Sung Jin described it as a lucky accident that helped propel G-Friend into popularity. In addition to explaining their styling and choreography, he also revealed that the group currently has no plans to venture into a sexy concept nor will they have any member changes.
“People say that over time, it’s natural that a girl group would do a sexy concept but I don’t believe in that. You should consider the color of the group when choosing a concept for them. G-Friend will probably never go down that [sexy] route.”
Upon hearing this, fans showered the CEO with praise, complimenting him on his positive mindset and clear plan for the group.
