Girl group EXID’s member Hani will take the lead role in the forthcoming webtoon-based TV drama series, “The Sound of Your Heart,” according to a person familiar with the matter.
“Hani will appear in the upcoming series, ‘The Sound of Your Heart,’” the source told a local news outlet Sports Daily.
The report added Hani will act as the protagonist Cho Seok’s girlfriend Ae-bong citing the source. The eponymous webtoon by cartoonist Cho Seok features his family members, pets and Ae-bong, and revolves around daily lives and lessons he learns from it.
The role will mark the 23-year-old musician’s first in acting project.
The series will be aired through KBS 2TV after its teasers are released on Naver TV Cast. It is produced by Cross Pictures, which produced tvN’s “Cheese in the Trap.”
The webtoon was one of the longest-running and most popular, with more than 5 billion hits and 10 million replies as of December 2015 since its first episode in 2006. The webtoon is still running, and its 1,000th episode was posted on Dec. 18, 2015.
